Heather Grady: Director, Policy and Partnerships, Realizing Rights: The Ethical Globalization Initiative

Prior to joining Realizing Rights, Heather Grady was the Global Lead on Rights and Institutional Accountability for Oxfam Great Britain. From 2000-2004 she was based in Thailand as Oxfam's Regional Director for East Asia, managing a long-term development and humanitarian program covering nine countries, including Indonesia, Cambodia, Vietnam, China and Burma. Before that, Heather was Oxfam's Country Representative in Vietnam, where she resided from 1993 to 2000. From the mid-1980s to 1993 she worked with Save the Children US and UK in the Gaza Strip and Sudan, and prior to that worked and studied in China, Taiwan and Egypt. Heather has a BA from Smith College, with a concentration in Government and Chinese language, and a Master in Public Administration from Harvard University. She has authored several articles and book chapters, and co-authored one of the first books on Participatory Rural Appraisal methodology.
