Editorial Policy

The Panelist is an online magazine that deals with a range of issues that fall under the category of socially conscious investing. We seek to provide a globally accessible space for blogs, articles, commentary, digital photos, video and audio.

There are no easy or perfect solutions to running a website, rich with a healthy democracy of views, but we have decided on the following guidelines to help us decide what content is appropriate and what is not. We believe that these guidelines will help to make the editorial process a clearer one both for our writers and readers.

We encourage content that includes:

– Well-researched, timely articles
– Media analysis
– Investigative reporting
– Stories on events affecting the economy, finance, world politics, international business, socially responsible culture, the environment, and underrepresented groups
– Stories on people or projects working towards social and economic justice
– Original, underreported stories of local, regional, national, or global importance.

Content authors must ensure that all content is original material created by the author, unless proper attribution is given to a third party. If other sources are quoted, the source must be cited and the quote must be within fair use. For a clear definition of proper attribution and fair use, please see The Electronic Frontier Foundation’s Legal Guide for Bloggers

Content must be consistent and adhere to the agreement and the highest editorial standards. The Panelist, in its sole discretion, will determine what constitutes Unacceptable Content under these Editorial Standards. The Panelist may change these standards at any time.
